arenisca DORADA URBION ® sandstone
It is a uniform sandstone of beige colour and medium grain size in which quartz predominates. Small amounts of micas also appear, bringing tiny bright spots to the cut surface, as well as iron oxyhydroxides creating light streaks, leading to various sub-varieties. The rock is exploited at a sandstone level that appears interspersed with both clay and conglomerate materials.
It is mined in its own quarry at Vilviestre del Pinar (Burgos, Spain), where reserves are estimated to exceed 500,000 cubic meters. It is a sandstone of great hardness and tremendously versatile, which is used in all types of cladding, massifs, masonry and other architectural elements.
