arenisca DORADA de los PINARES ® sandstone
Sandstone with a reddish-salmon color with a more or less intense brownish-woody grain depending on the iron oxide content of the rock.
It has a medium-coarse grain size and a quartzite composition with minimal content of micas (muscovite and biotite) and opaque minerals. It is a rock of easy cut and great beauty extracted from a series of sedimentary levels of the Lower Cretaceous emerging in the Comarca de Pinares (Burgos, Spain).
The blocks are transferred to the Company’s workshop, where they are cut and processed in various pieces such as cladding, seating, masonry, flooring… with the several characteristic finishes of the sandstone, such as sawn cut, bush hammered, honed, split, pitched, stripped, etc.
