CONSEJO CONSULTIVO JUNTA DE CASTILLA Y LEON, IN ZAMORA

Around 7,000 Sqm of Arenisca Reina sandstone have been used in the medieval stone wall, as well as in paving. The architect, Mr. Alberto Campo Baeza, envisaged «a box open to the sky, surrounded by a secret garden in which we retain and plant trees and leafy herbs».

Situated opposite the historic Romanesque Cathedral, it is a glass building surrounded by a stone wall creating a sense of harmonic relationship with the surrounding buildings. The stone wall has a dual role to define and, at the same time, to integrate.

From the roof, one can enjoy breathtaking views of the city which help us to relax, unwind and absorb the beauty of the city and the building itself.

This project won the Marmomacc International Award Architecture in Stone 2013.
