JEWELRY IN OVIEDO, ASTURIAS

The Caliza Gris Alveolar limestone is a biomicrite of great hardness and a bluish-gray tone, very rich in fossil remains, such as alveolinids from the Paleogene period (during the Cenozoic). These can be small marine invertebrates such as mollusks, echinoderms and even crustaceans (crabs), such as the one that appeared during the placement of the cladding of a work, that can be seen here below.

In this prestigious jewelry, tiles of bushhammered Caliza Gris Alveolar limestone were used, with the very characteristic colour of the Asturian capital, Oviedo. It is also used for paving, ashlars and all kinds of architectural uses.
